ParkFinder ("we", "our", or "the app") is a free app that helps you discover national parks and campgrounds across the United States. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Location — Used only on your device to show parks near you and to send optional notifications when a saved park is nearby. Your location is never sent to our servers.
Account — You may sign in with Google or use the app anonymously. If you sign in, we store your Google account name and email address in Firebase Authentication solely to identify your account.
Favorites — Parks and campgrounds you save are stored in Firebase Realtime Database under your account ID so they sync across your devices.
Recently Viewed — A short list of recently viewed parks stored only on your device. Never uploaded.
Usage Analytics — We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (screens viewed, feature usage). No personal data is included.

To save and sync your favorite parks across devices
To send optional local notifications about nearby saved parks
To improve the app via anonymous analytics
The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
Firebase (Google) — Authentication, Realtime Database, and Analytics
National Park Service API — Public park data from nps.gov
Recreation.gov (RIDB) — Public campground data
Mapbox — Interactive park maps
Your favorites and account data are kept until you delete your account or request deletion. To delete your data, email us at the address below and we will remove your account and all associated data within 30 days.
ParkFinder is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
